For over a decade, the Xtreme Team program has provided opportunity for young adults, ages 19 to 29, to Xperience the richness of God's mission around the world through the work of American Baptist International Ministries. 

Egypt is the destination for 2010 and the dates are June 14- July 13.  What would you POSSIBLY do in Egypt??  Well, think X.  How many commandments were there?  Which Old Testament book in the Bible starts with X (okay, sounds like x)?  How about Xtreme history? Religion? Culture?

The Xtreme Team is designed to connect young adults with American Baptist mission around the world. Our purpose is to grow a passion and interest in mission for the here and now as well as to cultivate a new generation of global mission leaders. 

So, why call it Xtreme Team?  First of all, any encounter with what God is doing around the world is going to be Xtreme.  One will see Xtreme faith, Xtreme poverty and wealth, Xtreme injustice, Xtreme hospitality, and the list goes on and on.  In addition, we call it Xtreme Team because team members do not know what they’ll be doing from day to day- even minute to minute.  This becomes an opportunity to live out what Jesus’ disciples encountered 2000 some years ago- living day to day by faith.
