Returning to the DR with Hurricane Dean!

I just wanted to update everyone with my latest information and the information I received an hour ago (10pm ET on Saturday August 18th). I was informed that La Romana, Dominican Republic did have some wind and a little rain, but nothing major. Everyone is doing well. I have not received word about any of the bateyes but the city of La Romana is fine. Most of the damage along the southern coast is due to large waves and there is some flooding of the roads that run along the coast. Greater damage is expected along the Haiti-Dominican border and westward into Haiti. Praise God that it was not worse for most of the DR and let us continue to pray for the rest of the Caribbean and Yucatan peninsula. If I get further information, I will let you know. I will be returning to the DR August 19th, just on the heels of Hurricane Dean!
