Team Covenant (in English and Spanish)

The Xtreme team is designed to simulate a life based off Jesus and his disciples. Therefore we devote ourselves to following God with Xtreme obedience and faith (Matthew 4:18-22), knowing that in everything we need to bring glory to God (1 Corinthians 10:31), and realizing that our strength and help for all we need comes from the Lord (Psalm 121). This type of life is also devoted to true, unconditional love that will lead us to risk and sacrifice for others. Therefore, we devote ourselves to a love that leads to action and service (1 John 3:17-18). We also believe that the disciples were bold and courageous; therefore we commit ourselves to following this example in everything that we do, even in our prayers. In fact, our boldness begins and ends with prayer, therefore we commit ourselves to constant prayer as we are advised to do in Philippians 4:6-7 boldly presenting all of our concerns and worries at the throne of God (Hebrews 4:16). We also commit ourselves to taking seriously the words of Christ in John 14:12-14 and Matthew 22:21-22 by committing ourselves to live Xtreme lives, emptying ourselves and being filled with the Holy Spirit, realizing that in him we can be as miraculous as Jesus. We also realize that relationship is a huge part of a disciple of Christ’s life we devote ourselves to preserving community and relationship. Therefore, we commit ourselves to taking and assuring that others are able to take ample alone time (Matthew 14:23). We also believe that being H.O.T. (honest, open, and transparent) is essential to this lifestyle. In order to ensure this atmosphere, confidentiality amongst the members of the team is essential. We also pledge ourselves to being sensitive to the feelings and emotions of those around us. Some of the ways we can practically live out this covenant is by:

Being devoted to daily prayer life both individually and together
Committing ourselves to regular group devotions
Encouraging each other when ever possible (Hebrews 10: 24-25)
Participating in everything that comes our way and encouraging others to do the same
Being conscious of the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives and the lives of those around us

El Xtreme team esta disenado para estimular una vida basada en la vida de Jesus y sus dicipulos. Por lo tanto, nos comprometemos a seguir a Dios con xtrema obediencia y fe (Mateo 4:18-22), sabiendo que necesitamos traer gloria a Dios en todo (1 Corintios 10:31), y reconociendo que nuestra fuerza y ayuda viene de Dios (Salmo 121). Este tipo de vida tambien nos llama a comprometernos a el amor verdadero y incondicional que nos guiara a arriesgar y sacrificar para otros. Nos comprometemos a un amor que guia a accion y servicio (1 Juan 3:17-18). Nosotros creemos que los dicipulos eran atrevidos y valientes; es por esto que nos comprometemos a seguir este ejemplo el todo lo que hagamos, incluso en nuestras oraciones. De hecho nuestra determinacion esta delimitada por la oracion. Nos comprometemos a orar constantemente como Pablo le exhorta a los Filipenses en Filipenses 4:6-7, al presentar todas nuestras peticiones y preocupaciones ante el trono de Dios (Hebreos 4:16). En adicion, nos comprometemos a tomar seriamente las palabras de Cristo en Juan 14:12-14 y Mateo 22:21-22 a vivir nuestras vidas al Xtremo, al dejar a un lado nuestros deseos para que el Espiritu Santo nos llene, para que reconozcamos que en El podemos hacer tanto milagros como Jesus. Tambien comprendemos que las relaciones son una parte muy importante de la vida de un discipulo de Cristo; nos comprometemos a mantener la comunion y las buenas relaciones entre nosotros y con los que nos rodean. Nos comprometemos a tomar un tiempo a solas cuando lo necesitemos y asegurarnos que otros tambien tengan ese mismo espacio (Mateo 14:23). Creemos que debemos ser honestos, abiertos y transparentes (HOT por sus siglas en ingles) como parte esencial de nuestro estilo de vida. Para mantener este ambiente, la confidelidad entre los miembros del equipo es esencial. Tambien nos comprometemos a ser sensibles a los sentimientos y emociones de aquellos que nos rodean. Algunas de las formas en las que podemos modelar este convenio son:

Dedicar tiempo de oracion diariamente tanto individual como grupalmente.
Llevar acabo devocionales grupales con regularidad.
Animandonos los unos a otros frecuentemente (Hebreos 10:24-25)
Participando de todas las actividades y animando a otros a hacer lo mismo
Teniendo conciencia del poder del Espiritu Santo en nuestras vidas y en las vidas de aquellos que nos rodean.
