Leaving Mae La

Its time to say goodbye to Mae La Bible School but not before a morning devotional with the students in which we sang together and Duane shared a meditation but most importantly....WE HEARD THE SONG! Let me explain that, we've been here for the weekend and every night there was choir practice from 7pm to sometimes 11pm, the same song for the whole time for the whole weekend! Its safe to say that we know the song and all the harmony even though we have no idea what it says. Not to mention that in the mornings we would wake up to other people practicing songs and playing instruments at like 5:30 am! When did we sleep you ask, I don't quite remember what sleep is but maybe we'll get a refresher course today. The final product of the song sounded very pretty and after the devotional we all checked out some of the classes being given and then visited their middle school. Soon after we said goodbye to new friends then headed to Mae Sot where we are now and checked in to a hotel which include beds, hot showers and regular toilets, its all coming back to us now. Short time after checking in we headed out to find a laundromat which we were in desperate need for since as much as we wash our clothes here, they never dry thanks to rain and humidity. We also grabbed a bite to eat which we were very happy for because for the first time in a couple of weeks, it didn't include rice! Its interesting to be in the city again after being out in the country for so long but its time to rest and gear up for our last week here, after so much stuff done, its hard to think of what else we can do next!


Es hora de despedirnos de la escuela de biblia en Mae La pero no antes de un devocional matutino con los estudiantes en el cual cantamos justos y Duane conpartio una meditacion pero lo mas importante es....ESCUCHAMOS LA CANCION! Dejenme explicar, nosotros hemos estado aqui el fin de semana y todas las noches de 7pm hasta algunas veces las 11pm, la misma cancion, la practica entera por todo el fin de semana! Creo que puedo decir que todos nos sabemos la cancion y todas sus partes aunque no tenemos idea de lo que dice. Aemas de eso en las mananas despertabamos con el sonido de otras personas cantando y tocando unstrumentos a las 5:30am! Cuando dormiamos se pregundan, ni me acuerdo de lo que es dormir pero a lo mejor nos recordaremos hoy. El producto final de la cancion sono muy bonito y despues del devocional todos escuchamos algunas de las clases dadas en la escuela y ademas visitamos la escuela intermedia. Despues de estas visitas nos despedimos de nuevos amigos y empezamos el viaje hacia Mae Sot donde estamos ahora y el cual incluye camas, banos con agua caliente y toilets regulares, poco a poco nos estamos recordando de estas cosas. Poco tiempo despues de llegar salimos a buscar una lavanderia la cual necesitabamos desesperadamente ya que no importa cuantas veces lavamos ropa aqui nunca se seca gracias a la lluvia y humedad. Tambien en el camino paramos a comer y estabamos super contentos porque por primera vez en semanas, la comida no tenia nada de arroz! Es interesante estar en la ciudad denuevo despues de estar en sitios remotos por tanto tiempo pero es tiempo de descansar y prepararnos para nuestra ultima semana aqui, despues de haber hecho tantas cosas, es dificil pensar en que otras cosas haremos esta semana.
