Day 29 BLOG

International Rescue Committee and Overseas Processing Entity

Michael

This mornings Xfile led us to the International Rescue Committee and Overseas Processing Entity. Some of the questions from the other day were answered. The leader was very open and informative. She asked the group to help in fostering stronger links with the already resettled & other refugees. Also helping with community orientation and trying to get rid of assumptions about refugees that are resettling. These are the things that should happen in order to help with the resettlement.
We had a debriefing about the whole trip, because Duane told us our mission of learning in Thailand was done for now. He read John 17 and broke it down with our experiences on this trip. When we got to the section on unity we took time to work with each other on what it was to be a team member. We were asked to write letters to one of the members of the team by picking a name out of a hat. The night was ours to do with as we pleased as long as our letters were ready for the morning.

Hi Mike,

It sounds like your trip has and will be life-changing. I pray you won't lose any of the wonder of it. I can't wait to see you and hear all about how the trip has changed all of you and those you ministered to.

Keep taking care of each other, we'll see you soon!

May God bless and keep you.

Love, Mary
